The Blue Planet Project will participate in the “Towards People’s Summit of Rio+20” in Porto Alegre, Brazil January 24-29, 2012 with other civil society organizations and social and popular movements from around the world. Check back regularly for updates.

In the months leading up to Rio, The Blue Planet Project will work with international allies to produce a backgrounder on the Green Economy and water that will outline the threats posed to water by the model being promoted by the G8. The paper will also provide alternatives and an action plan for governments and civil society groups wanting to promote economic models based on principles of water justice.
