The BPP Welcomes the ICJ Ruling on Genocide in Gaza and Calls on Progressive Organizations to Take Action

Alongside human rights lawyers and activists around the world, the Blue Planet Project welcomes the ICJ genocide hearing in the Hague and stands in solidarity with the global community in support of the South African submission which cites the weaponization of water in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The January 26th ICJ ruling found that Israel’s actions in Gaza could plausibly fall within the Genocide Convention, ordering Israel to comply with provisional orders to restrain any further genocidal actions. Although the completion of the ICJ process may take years, the implementation of the court’s provisional measures to protect Palestinians must be immediate. The Blue Planet Project supports the ICJ’s ruling and calls on all progressive organizations and nations to put pressure on Israel to comply with ICJ’s directives.
