On December 04, 2025 the African Water Justice Network (AWJN) issued a statement to the national press in Senegal and international media outlets to draw urgent attention to the grave situation facing Senegal’s public water sector.
We at the Blue Planet Project have signed our support for this statement. We call for an immediate cessation of all threats, intimidation and disciplinary measures to the workers and union representatives advocating for transparency and accountability around the water sector in Senegal. Water is a fundamental Human Right.
